Chelsea Haaland received a BS in Psychology in 2003 and an MSW from Tulane University in 2005. Chelsea has over 10 years of experience working with adults, children and families in a variety of treatment settings. Following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, she provided therapy to children and adults struggling with grief and PTSD. Chelsea also has experience practicing social work internationally in India and England. For the last 5 years she has been a practicing LCSW, serving adults with severe mental illness on the big island. Chelsea is a member of the Hawaii Play Therapy Association.
Areas of focus include trauma, grief, anxiety, depression and anger management. Chelsea's treatment approach incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems and play therapy, depending on the client's needs.
In her free time Chelsea enjoys surfing and ashtanga yoga.
